This insurance plan is tailor-made to your specific needs when traveling with Hong Kong Airlines. Key features# include:

  1. Medical Cover – provides medical protection should you suffer from injury or illness during the insured journey
    • Cover medically necessary expenses including costs of outpatient treatment, hospitalization fees, surgery and doctor’s fees.
    • Follow-up medical expenses incurred within three months after return to Hong Kong, including Chinese medicine, bone-setting and acupuncture treatment
  2. Personal baggage – provides covers for the accidental loss of or damage to your baggage or personal belongings
    • Cover tablets PC, golf equipment, laptop computer, cameras and camcorders and their related accessories and equipment
  3. Amateur sports – protection for a range of amateur sports
    • Including winter sports, scuba diving, water-skiing, rafting, sailing, parachuting, rock climbing, bungee jumping, horse riding, etc.
  4. Covers trip cancellations, trip curtailment and travel delay hospitalization fees, surgery and doctor’s fees. including Chinese medicine, bone-setting and acupuncture treatment related accessories and equipment climbing, bungee jumping, horse riding, etc.
Major Exclusions
  1. Any event arising from war, act of foreign enemy, civil war, rebellion, insurrection, military force or coup.
  2. Any pre-existing condition, congenital and hereditary condition; insanity, mental or nervous disorders, any condition under the influence of alcohol or drugs (other than those prescribed by a qualified medical practitioner), alcoholism or drug addiction.
  3. Any condition resulting from pregnancy, childbirth or miscarriage, abortion, pre-natal care as well as post-natal care and other complications arising therefrom, venereal disease; Suicide or intentional self-inflicted injury; Any illness attributable to HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and/or HIV related illness including AIDS.
  4. Any losses due to trekking at an altitude greater than 5,000 meters above sea level or diving to a depth greater than 40 meters below sea level.
  5. The insurance shall not apply to persons undertaking expeditions, treks, equipped mountaineering or similar journey.
  6. Any loss or liability incurred as a result of the insured person being a crew member or an operator of any air carrier.
  7. Any activity or involvement of the insured person in the air unless such insured person is at the relevant time (i) travelling as a fare paying passenger on a regular scheduled flight or licensed chartered aircraft, or (ii) participating in such activity where the maneuver or navigation of such activity is responsible by another person who is adequately licensed for guiding such activity and the provider of such activity must be authorized by the relevant local authority.

Outbound Travel Alert Benefit Guideline for Zurich Travel Insurance

Zurich sincerely provides multiple and reliable protection to every travel insurance policy holders and you can enjoy your trip throughout the journey. In response to the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) System by the HKSAR Security Bureau (HK Security Bureau), we aspire to provide a more comprehensive and upgraded protection to our customer.

Additional cover for OTA is added to our Single Trip Travel Policy which is enrolled from Now to 30 June 2017. If a Red or Black OTA is hoisted to the planned destination(s) by the HK Security Bureau within 7 days before the scheduled departure date or during the insured journey, the insured person can enjoy the following OTA benefits:
